The FCC announced a 2.2% inflation factor for E-Rate FY 2019.
This will increase the Erate Category Two per student cap from $156.23 per student to $159.669 per student. Keep in mind that the E-rate program administrator, USAC, uses the full unrounded amount when calculating Category 2 budgets.
Additionally, the increase changes the nation-wide E-rate program cap from $4,062 million in 2018 to $4,151 million for 2019.
The following table shows the increases since 2015 when the E-rate Modernization Program was first implemented.
The inflation factor utilized by the FCC is based on the changes reported by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on February 28, 2019 for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP Price Index).
